2014 Breastfeeding Campaign

   2014 Breastfeeding Campaign
“Breastfeeding NOLA. Eat Local. Anytime, Anywhere”

Our annual breastfeeding transit campaign kicked off August 1, 2014 to align with World Breastfeeding Week and National Breastfeeding Month. The campaign will run August 1 – November 30, 2014.  This year our breastfeeding campaign focuses on the Louisiana Breastfeeding law La. Rev. Stat. Ann. § 51. 2247.1 (2001), which states a mother may breastfeed her baby in any place of public accommodation, resort, or amusement.  It further states that mother breastfeeding her baby in any location, public or private, where the mother is otherwise authorized to be, shall not be deemed to be in violation of the obscenity law (R.S. 14:106) or of any other provision of law. We included images of mothers breastfeeding in local public iconic places to help normalize breastfeeding in New Orleans.  The images were displayed around the Greater New Orleans area on 18 bus shelters, 11 exterior bus ads, 20 interior bus ads, 1 exterior streetcar ad, and 2 rotating digital billboards.

A special thank you to our beautiful volunteer breastfeeding mothers, Amy Cherie Photography, KVR Photography, and graphic designer Natalie Vargas for donating your time and talent to create this year’s campaign

2013 Transit Campaign

Ad2-01-300x199In 2013, the transit campaign focused on the federal workplace lactation law on city buses and bus shelters.  Our aim is to raise awareness about this law so that working women know their rights in the workplace.
